Travel to Live – Live to Travel

All my life I have had a natural curiosity to be anywhere but where I actually was. I always wanted to go beyond my neighborhood, my town and my state. As I grew older that curiosity lead to trips by car, by bus, by train and finally by flight. Just as I could go a little farther and stay a little longer escaping the country a little bit I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I turned 25. It hit me literally like a ton of bricks and sunk me into a deep depression as my ability to walk rapidly decreased. I stated in that miserable depressed mindset got 2 years. One day it just hit me that MS was a blessing and not the death sentence I initially thought it was!

I slowly began to get better! I was still moving slow, but I WAS MOVING. My curiosity to travel was then reignited. See it was then that I knew I needed to get out and see the world. I was blessed with another chance to discover all the world had to offer. I was armed with a cane, walker, wheelchair and scooter. I used whatever mobility aide. I needed to get out there and get the job done. You see MS is an unpredictable disease. I want to see the world while I have some mobility left in me.

Travel is finally the right prescription to heal me physically and emotionally. Seeing new places around the world builds a treasure chest of memories that are literally the gift that keeps on giving.

I’ve vowed to show my fellow disabled warriors that it can be done. There is so place to go and enjoy no mater what your level of disability is!

I literally travel to aid in living my best life possible…… and you can too!
